Got a quick one day finish under my belt just now. Last one for June, which brings my grand total for completed stitchery to seven. Yay! Go me! Anyhoo...here's the pic and the related stitchy notes:

Over at SanMan Originals , Sandy had a challenge using a skein of DMC 4170. There were two mini designs and whoever stitched one of them up first won a prize. I didn't finish on time, as I had stuff to do yesterday and today, but I managed to finish mine just a bit ago and I made it into a door hanger. (Although, the hanger really does need to be bigger than what it is if I really wanna hang it on a door. Either that or find a MUCH smaller door, LOL!)
At any rate, here's my take on it:

Yay! I'm on a roll here! Managed to finish up Autumn Side yesterday. I have such FUN with Sandy's designs. She has also told me that she really does not mind that I that I change the fabric and floss to suit my whims and moods. I know of at least one designer that goes bat shit crazy when you do that, which I have no clue why. Even with my one lone design that I did, it would not bother me in the least bit if someone rearranged things to suit their taste and/or day-core. I mean, really? I mean, I don't presume to speak for anyone other than myself, but I'd be pleased as punch if someone stitched up something I designed, no matter if they changed the colors, the fabric or even how I had it arranged! (Sidebar: This reminds me that I really do need to get up off my ass and finish the border of that thing and start on my second one. I may be designing today, instead of stitching!). But then again, that's just me! :)

Fibers: DMC 918, 921, 920, 935, and 938. DMC Antique Effects in E898. DMC Variegated in # 61 and 115. Kreinik #4 Very Fine Braid in #150V Copper. Weeks Dye Works variegated floss in Carrot.
Fabric: 28 count Monaco that I hand dyed that I am calling Guinness Foam Cream.
(And PS: Yes, it is an EXACT match to the foam head that is made by a Guinness ale. I know this, because my BIL went out and got a four pack of the stuff just to see if it was! )
Accouterments: Mill Hill beads in 62044 Pumpkin, 00556 Copper, 62031 Old Gold, and G03003 Antique Cranberry.
Errata: Needs a crow button in the lower left corner, but other than that, this is another finish for the books. All that remains is Winter Side and I may pull the fabric and floss for that later today.
Many, many, MANY thanks to Sandy, who generously gifted me with this series as a Christmas wish this past Christmas. I have enjoyed throwing open the bins of my stash and just going ape with all of the colors and textures. Thank you so much, Sandy! You totally rock! :)

And now for a few unrelated thoughts :D
1. While I love it when folks want to comment on my blog, please bear in mind, that I cannot read anything written in any Asian language using symbols. If I cannot read it, or copy and paste it into one of my numerous online translators, it does NOT get published. Sorry, folks. I'm just a silly gaijin, and I really do mean it when I say I moderate my comments. Wakarimasu ka? :)
2. I am probably going to have to trim down my Flickr photos. While I am enamored of all that is Flickr, the free program only allows you to post 200 photos, before it 'strongly urges' you to 'Go Pro'. Well, the budget being what it is, at the moment, 25 bucks for one year is out of my budget. Although, to be fair, if I had 25 bucks, it would probably go towards more stash, LOL! :). If I manage to get my state massage therapy license in before the turn of the decade, I will probably spring for that. I may even get a two year deal, which is just shy of 48 bucks. Not bad, and I love the features that Flickr has. We shall see, what we shall see, eh?
3. I really do need to sit down and organize my WIPs and UFOs. Make the list, stitch 'em up, and get 'em outta there. Really, I'm cleaning up some odds and ends yesterday, and I'm coming across projects that I forgot I *had*. OY! Really?! So totally not necessary!

Yep, you read that correctly. Three cross stitch finishes for me in one night. DH did some financial manoeuvrings and yesterday he took me to Stitcher's Paradise to get me the much needed threads I desperately wanted. To ice the cake further, he let me get enough to finish FOUR projects. YAY!! I managed to finish three of them last night and worked a bit on the fourth before finally calling it a night. Fabric: 32 count cream linen
Errata: Stitched two tiny hearts next to the uppercase Z instead of the punctuation.
Finish #3:
Design: Florida Heart from the Hearts of America series
Designer: Thea Dueck of Victoria Sampler
Fibers: DMC and Kreinik that was in the kit
Fabric: 25 count evenweave in white that was included in the kit
Errata: Had to fudge the heart a bit on the right side, as it REFUSED to line up correctly, despite my checking my stitching at least 500 times. Finally said to hell with it and just added an extra stitch!

In other news, it appears that Ria Lanser of Stofnest is back cross stitch designing! Woohoo! For a while, it looked like she had quit altogether. I was saddened by this as she has such awesome designs, and I really do need to finish her Paris Sampler. I have not worked on it since my last update on 04.06.10.
She has created the Stofnest Club , and from what I have been able to make out via various online translators, is that the club is at a cost of 10 Euros (roughly 12 dollars US or 13 Canadian dollars) for 26 brand new, exclusive charts. That's actually quite a deal, and it would be worth it, IMO. Hopefully, I can do some more monetary re-arranging and get to sign up.
Well, cats and kitties, this High Priestess of Perpetual Starts needs to get a move on. I'm not feeling too swift today (Have a happy period, their ASS!!!!) and need to crawl back into bed with my Autumn Side and the Paris Sampler and just zone out. So may the Finish be with you all!

Just got finished stitching my only finish for the month just a few moments ago. Well, at least I have a finish, so that counts, yea? At any rate, here's a pic and some related stitchy notes. :)
Design: Miniature Heirloom Series Kit Independence Hall (PC-806).
Designer: Posy Collection
Floss: DMC White, 500, 927, 3064, and 3777.
Fabric: Charles Craft 14 count aida in what looks like either a mushroom or dark khaki color
Errata: Kit purchased in a shop in Philadelphia near Independence Hall, November 2008. Beginning stitches were stitched sitting on a bench in front of the Hall. It was really neat to do that and I hope I get the opportunity to do that again soon! :)
I love the way it turned out, although, I wrote myself a note that when I stitch it again, I will stitch the border in either DMC 310, 336, 823, 317 or 413. I will have to floss toss, but I think it would look good with any of those colors, really.
I pulled out Country Cottage Needlework's Bee Pinkeep to work on after this one. It's another one from the Land of Started and Never Finished Projects. Shouldn't take long at all, but it does need to be done. I've woefully neglected stitching up what I have started already and really do need to put a sizable dent in it before I start working and The Hubmeister's map.
Now for some hockey chat! Big Congrats to Ryan Miller of the Buffalo Sabers for taking the Vezina Trophy Wednesday night here in Vegas. (The Vezina Trophy is awarded annually to the National Hockey League's goaltender who is "adjudged to be the best at this position". At the end of each season, the 30 General Managers of the teams in the National Hockey League vote to determine the goaltender who was the most valuable to his team during the regular season. Before 1981, it was awarded to the goaltender(s) of the team allowing the fewest number of goals during the regular season; now, the William M. Jennings Trophy is awarded under the aforementioned definition.). Quite frankly, I think he more than deserved it, even if it meant Mr. Brodeur walking away without the hardware. (For the record, Mr. Brodeur has four Vezinas so it's not like he's hurting any! :P). Anyway, congrats, Mr. Miller! You did the USA proud during the Olympics and for what it's worth, you made a major fan out of me!

Sorry for the lack of posting folks. Since I had to put Miss Ushi to sleep, I haven't really felt up to stitching much. However, the last couple of days I've been trying to work on some WIPs however I've run into some snags and cannot finish the two I have been working on due to running out of floss. Le sigh. So, if anyone has a length of Crescent Colours Belle Soie silk in Cinnamon Stick and a length of Weeks Dye Works 2269 Liberty, I would be forever grateful. I can do an exchange for other floss that I am planning on using or I can trade just a 12 inch length. Due to current economic standing, unfortunately, I can only trade/exchange at this time :(.

Apologies for the lack of updating. I really haven't stitched anything on account of Miss Ushi getting ill. When I spoke with her vet this morning, it was *not* good news. Clinically, she was unchanged, however, when they did the bloodwork this morning, her kidney tests were off the charts. The vet said she had never seen them that high. She is in kidney failure and her situation is grim. The vet believes that it is a genetic issue that finally caught up with her. We will have to put her to sleep. :(
I am utterly and completely heartbroken over this. I lost Beau Beau in March of last year, the baby in October of last year, I almost lost my mother in December and now this. I just pray to God that she isn't suffering and that she forgives me for what I am about to do. :*(

Been stitching along on LHN's 'Red House In Winter', but alas, it is not completed yet. I am anxious to have it finished soon, so I can finish up all the other stuff I started. Le sigh.
