A Change of Status
This is SOOOOOOOO not cross stitching related, but oh, well! It's my blog and I'll off topic if I want to! :P
I love ideas. And I can do so much with them. I can take one idea and bring the conversation of a roomful of people to a complete halt. :P
My last brain wave came in the form of suggesting to my FH (that's future husband) that we could in essence, have TWO weddings. A smaller, more private one, that would take the pressure off of getting married and also we wouldn't have to deal with waiting anymore. That way, we could relax and plan wedding number two, which would be a big huge blowout with lots of limos, parties, food, and CAKE. (to say that my FH runs on a pro cake platform is akin to calling Bill O'Reilly a little bit of a right wing Republican).
So, after much discussion between the two of us, last Tuesday, February 10, we went to the Chapel of the Flowers on the LV Strip and found a wedding package we really liked and then went to the Clark County Marriage License Bureau and got a marriage license. (In Clark County, there is no waiting period and no blood testing.) The Bureau was quiet, save for three other couples. And yes, it was about 8 PM approximately when we did this. We decided to go Tuesday, rather than later on in the week, because Las Vegas is the wedding capitol of the world and on Valentine's Day, all engaged couples come home.
On Saturday, February 14, 2009 at approximately 9:45 PM, me and my FH were officially married. :D (I suppose I now have to call him DH, Darling Husband, but Damn Husband when the situation calls for it. :P). Since he proposed to me last year on Valentine's Day, it seemed kind of fitting that we get married on that day.
In attendance was his mother and his best friend, who gave me away. We are still planning on the big wedding. (I didn't spend 800 bucks on a wedding dress for nothing!). Hopefully, we can have it this October, but we keep adding things to the bigger wedding (more photography, an actual reception, etc) it's sort of jacked the price up, so we will see.
We spent the night at the Mandalay Bay hotel, in a 750 square foot suite with a king sized bed, a sunken jet tub, and champagne waiting on us. God bless Las Vegas!
Hope everyone had as good a Valentine's Day as we did! :)

Thank you ladies, for all of your well wishes! :)
Congrats on the wedding. Guess you'll need to start referring to him as CH. May you have a long and happy marriage.
