Kokubetsu, Misu Ushi

Apologies for the lack of updating. I really haven't stitched anything on account of Miss Ushi getting ill. When I spoke with her vet this morning, it was *not* good news. Clinically, she was unchanged, however, when they did the bloodwork this morning, her kidney tests were off the charts. The vet said she had never seen them that high.
She is in kidney failure and her situation is grim. The vet believes that it is a genetic issue that finally caught up with her. We will have to put her to sleep. :(

I am utterly and completely heartbroken over this. I lost Beau Beau in March of last year, the baby in October of last year, I almost lost my mother in December and now this. I just pray to God that she isn't suffering and that she forgives me for what I am about to do. :*(

---

Respectfully submitted,

C.

I'm so sorry to hear about Miss Ushi! I had to put my baby, Tucker, to sleep almost 3 years ago (it will be 3 years this July 9th). It was literally the hardest decision I have ever had to make. She will know you are doing it because you love her, and you can take comfort in the fact that she won't be in any more pain.

***big hugs*** I know exactly how you feel. This is the hardest thing in the world to do.

Of course she will forgive you. She deserves a painless death with dignity and you can give her that. ***more hugs***

From our common SanMan Board, I just came here to discover your blog and have found out that we have a lot in common.
I wanted to say that Ushi probably didn't suffer but was just very weak. That's what I was told by the vet for my first cat (a lovely marmalade long hair cat) whose kidney disease might have been genetic too.
I know how you feel, Cindy. I wish I could help.
Take care, sending you comforting hugs,
Lili/Leeland

Thanks, guys, for all of the comments. They mean a lot and I am in sore need of comfort right now.

It was a week ago yesterday that we had her put to sleep and the wound is still raw. :(
