A Break In The Madness

I have never understood why some projects go so smoothly, without a hitch. Every stitch is an absolute joy and it is always a bit of a letdown when it comes to an end. You don't want the project to end. It is a glorious, zen like presence that you fervently wish would remain with you all of your days, however many those may be.

And then, there's the opposite side of the coin. Which is where I currently find myself. For whatever reason, this particular offering from the  Bin O'Shame has felt like I am stitching not in my office, but in a galley. At this point in the process, I am not half wondering if I have not met my Waterloo. This is supposed to be an easy stitch. No quarters, no tweeding, no obscene amount of colors, no confetti. No hardanger, stumpwork, needle painting, or any other type of advanced embroidery work that would require one to study for a doctorate at the Royal School of Needlework. Just plain, simple cross stitches, one after another one. But for whatever reason, this particular offering from the Bin O'Shame  has felt like I am not stitching, but in actuality, working at a job. That you are not wanting to do. So, after lamenting to Teh Hubmeister as to my current state of needlework affairs, he pointed out that whether or not all of the projects that I have are stitched up, they will still be in the closet.

hrm.

Well.

There you have it, sports fans.

So, I did what any other self-respecting stitcher would do in this situation.

I started another project.

:D

I chose a monochrome in soft colors, hoping that it would get me back on a more even keel. I started this one late Friday night and managed to get it completed last night during a marathon session of Murder, She Wrote. Stitching this project was lovely and didn't feel like work at all.

Design: Bluebird (a Reward of Merit pincushion)

Designer: Blackbird Designs

Fabric: 28 count Cashel linen in Legacy by Picture This Plus

Fiber Used:  Gloriana Threads  12 strand French silk floss in Blueberry #024

Stitcher's Notes: Stitched year in lower left corner one over one in Roman numerals instead of using the called for buttons.

Well, I had best be off. I need to figure out which project is next. Hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend! :)

Respectfully submitted,

C.
