Seemed Like A Good Idea At The Time

Although, I think it is because I am stitching on a very high count. I do not regret the count choice, however, the next time I am going to stitch on something 48 count Dower linen, I am going stitch with Gloriana's Tudor Silk threads. Honestly, I should have been done with this a long time ago, however, I have dilly'd and dally'd. And I believe it is because the Au Ver a Soie Soie 100/3 Spun Silk is just a few hairs too thick for the fabric. Ah, well. I suppose even at my age, I am never too old to learn. :)

This is another project from the infamous Bin O'Shame. I do not know if I am going to finish this before the end of the year. I don't even know if I am going to stitch anything other than the basket and the flowers in it. There is the alphabet to the right of the basket, but I've already decided not to stitch that. I've tried to locate a pretty quote about summer and/or flowers blooming, but nothing is jumping out at me. Ah well. Perhaps the Universe will provide me with inspiration once this section is completed.

As it has been almost three years since I have touched it, it really does need finishing!

Design: Summer In Bloom taken from the book Maria Selby Humphrey - 1831

Designer: Blackbird Designs

Fabric: 48 count Dower linen by Lakeside Linens in Magnolia

Fibers Used: Au Ver a Soie Soie 100/3 Spun Silk in 124, 126, 163, 197, 312, 447, 463, 705, and 773.

Stitcher's Notes: Began Monday, April 22, 2013. Substituted Au Ver a Soie Soie 100/3 Spun Silk for the called for The Gentle Art Sampler Threads and Picture This Plus fabric.

I had best be off. Time to go make homemade gingerbread. I have a stitch and bitch session with a dear friend of mine today and I am happy to get to see her to do some catching up. Hope everyone has a great weekend! :)
