The Air Is Wild With Leaves

This past weekend was devoted to the new start of a design that DH picked out. It is a fall related piece and one I have wanted to stitch for a very long time now. This piece also has the distinction of being purchased twice. Apparently, I really and truly wanted to stitch it, haha! :)

This piece will also be my focus piece for the month of November. I am hoping to have it finished by the 25th of this month, as I then start my last project of the year, a retired design by Jackye Derhay Renahy of A Mon Ami Pierre. These two are fairly large pieces that will take quite a bit of time.

This one also has the unique distinction of my stitching the central leaf in colors that were completely different than what was charted! Luckily, the colors that I chose will blend nicely with the rest of leaves that I need to stitch. I am really enjoying this project so far. I do love Prairie Schoolers' designs and luckily have quite a number of them to stitch.

On with the show! :)

Summer's Wave Goodbye

Today's small finish should have taken me only a day or two at most, but I think I was burned out from the Mermaid Azure finish to do too much. I took my time and as such this took close to two weeks to finish. I had picked Ana back up again, but honestly, I was not feeling a Halloween/Witch type finish. I had remembered that I had this one, so I kitted it up right quick and began stitching it. I have a Fall/Halloween type by Danybrod I am wanting to stitch, so I may kit that up for next month. It's called Ambiance Automnale and I love it. I have quite a number of her designs. She is a sweetheart to deal with and I always get the chart quite quickly. Love her stuff!

Well, here is the latest finish. Pertinents and such first! :)

Design:  Fallen Leaf

Designer: Lori Markovic of La D Da Designs

Fabric Used: 28 count Monaco that I hand dyed that I am calling Irish Ale Foam(And PS: Yes, it is an EXACT match to the foam head that is made by a Guinness ale. I know this, because my BIL went out and got a four pack of the stuff just to see if it was! )

Fibers Used:   Crescent Colours Belle Soie silk in Cranberry, Harvest and Mango.

Beads Used: Mill Hill beads in 02011 Victorian Gold, 02023 Root Beer, 02034 Autumn Flame, 03049 Rich Red.

In case anyone is wondering, The piece in the background is by Shepherd's Bush. It's a kit called Thanksgiving Needleroll. I enjoyed stitching the piece and bring it out every fall.

Well, I best be off. Need to clean up my stitching area and start thinking about making dinner tonight. Hope everyone has a fantastic week! :)
