Stitcher's Notes: Began Saturday, November 14, 2015 to commemorate those lost in the horrible attacks that occurred in the city of Paris, France on Friday, November 13, 2015. Design stitched in the Tricolore of the flag of France.

Liberté, égalité, fraternité!

Last night as I was browsing the internet, I came across news articles of the horrible attacks that occurred in the city of Paris, France. As an American, I am deeply horrified and saddened that this has happened. My most heartfelt prayers are going to the citizens of France in this deeply troubling time. And across the world, poor Japan had another somewhat sizable earthquake, which triggered a 'small' tsunami. My prayers and thoughts are with the citizens of Japan as well. 

In these situations, it is hard to know what to do, if anything. I wish I had billions of dollars so that I could donate what was needed. Alas, I am not independently wealthy by any stretch of the imagination. So, I do what I can, which is stitch. I chose this new start as the designer and the fibers I am using are French, as well as the needles and scissors I will be using. Only the fabric is of a different country (of German manufacture, purchased in the US). 

Well, at any rate, here is the latest start, dedicated to La Belle France:

A Long Time Coming Finish

Some finishes take longer than others. Some you never finish, and some you put aside as it's just boring or there are too many color changes. For whatever reason, they're just get set aside. I've really been riding the wave of finishing up those that have been languishing in the Bin O' Shame and managed to finish this latest one up just a bit ago. I re-did the beadwork as the beads weren't sitting correctly and I didn't like the way it looked. I forgot to take the 'before' photo, but oh, well. :)

Second Belle Lettre C floss and fabric test

Started this last night as I had the idea that the Crescent Colours Belle Soie silk in Icing and Spring Violets would be a good combination. I think it turned out ok, but I am unsure of doing the whole project in this. I would out of necessity have to have a darker fabric. I have some Picture This Plus Lupine in a 28 count, but I am thinking that may be too harsh a contrast. As it is, I may just do single motifs in different counts/threads/fabrics and use a collage frame to bring it all together. It's an idea at any rate! :)

Well, here are my efforts, such as they are. I also managed two posts in two days. Go me! :P

Leaves finish

Managed to finish up Leaves last night. It was a quick and fun stitch. I picked the Quaker Acorn freebie back up, however, not much progress was made due to it being late and my eyes were tired.

Bee Pinkeep finish and the best news ever!!

Finished up a quick design last night by Country Cottage Needleworks . I only stitched the inner portion of the design, as the fabric was simply not big enough to complete the whole design. Which is ok, because this means I get to stitch it again, LOL! :)

I am having my stitching time curtailed because as of last night I became employed again after 2.5 years! Wahoo!!! My Nevada state license finally came in yesterday and I called up the place I had interviewed in a couple of months ago and left a message with the hiring manager to that effect. She called me back last night and offered me a job! I start today at 1:30, so I had better go shake a leg! I have some stuff to take care of before I go into work!
