Needlework Chores

For the last day or so, I have been doing needlework related chores. Last night it was straightening up my fabric tub, separating the aida from the evenweave. After that, I took 3 pieces of fabric that had designs on them that would never be stitched on ever again and frogged them to remove the unfinished work. (Frogging = rip it, rip it. The mere mention of this word is enough to send shudders through any needleworker, regardless of skill and/or years of experience. It is never a pleasant thing to do, but just like life, you can go back and correct mistakes.). The frogging took me about an hour and a half to do, but it was well worth is, as I now have 3 'new' pieces of fabric to stitch other things on. 

Today, it was organizing my needlework project box on my desk and finally getting around to finishing up the needle minder I made for my FMIL. Stitchy notes:

Back: In keeping with my theme of using only what you have, the fabric that was used to back this came from a pillowcase from the Martha Stewart Collection from K-Mart that I had no intention of ever using and has been pretty much collecting dust since the sheets were bought months ago. I am not really jazzed with it, but it's presentable and finishing has never been my forte. 

I have yet to find and update my hard copy of my XS journal. I really do need to do that. I will have to go back through my blogs and pics and what all,

but oh, well. This will suck up some more free time.

I started a new project just a while ago, but I've put all of 3 stitches in it, so it's hardly worth showing. Maybe some pics tomorrow. It's the 2008 Halloween ornament by Spongebob,

S.E.X and 2 WIPS on the Road to Hana

Well, since I can't seem to figure out how to post pictures in this stupid blog in the order I want them in, I suppose I am going to have to resort to filling out all the blog first, then posting the pics. 

First off, I got new stash the last couple of days. A new workbox, a stitchy book, 2 mags and some fabric. Always fun. The workbox I got at Michael's at 30% off of $7.99. It's a really nice thick cardboard, with a definite French feel to it. It even has a magnet on the front flap to keep it from coming open. Good times. 

My two current projects are Little House Needleworks 'Cappuccino' and a freebie gift from a lady in France, called Sunflowers. (my French is iffy at best, so I am unclear if this is her web moniker, the name of the blog and/or both). 'Cappuccino' is done on Sassy's Fabrics 14 ct Starlite aida in Tan Marble. Crescent Colours Belle Soie silks used. Cup stitched in 'Cranberry' as the original 'Vanilla Pudding' did not show very well. Began Wednesday, December 26, 2007, 8 PM EST.
