All Hallows' Eve Finish On 9/11

My latest finish came about today as I have managed to misjudge how much fabric was available to me. As consequence, only the middle portion of this project was stitched. I did not feel like stitching the alphabet, as it was over one. I'd like to say that it is because I did not feel like stitching over one, however, it's really just sheer laziness on my part. 

Well, at any rate, here is my only finish thus far in the month of September 2017:

Fibers Used: Crescent Colours Belle Soie silk in Attic Tea, Eiffel Tower, Herb Garden, Lasagne, Old Crow, Teddy Bear, Tortoise Shell, Vanilla Pudding,  Weathered Vine, and Wheatgrass. 

Stitchers' Notes: Began Tuesday, August 22, 2017. Finished Monday, September 11, 2017. All materials pulled from stash. Substituted the called for 36 count Vintage Meadow Rue for the 36 count Vintage Pearled Barley by Lakeside Linens. Stitched with the called fro Belle Soie silks from Crescent Colours.

A New Fall Start With Chessie And Me

I culled this project from Leaflet Silo late last night as I gave up on trying to stitch on Ana again. This makes the third time that I have attempted to stitch on this project. No wonder that she has wound up in the Bin O'Shame! 

I have ripped out a good portion of the stitching on her that I have done so far. And I am not even going to discuss the use of symbols that are almost alike. Ana has symbols that are solid squares and diamonds next to one another. This would not be an issue, however, the chart is printed on that stupid and unnecessary ivory paper and the printing is somewhat small. It is also printed as one large chart, which is awkward as hell trying to stitch from as it takes up a great deal of room. Having to be well rested, heavily caffeinated, and having to constantly check the chart versus the stitching is somewhat annoying. I should not have to carbo load to stitch a chart, ya know? I stitch to relax and she has been anything but relaxing. 

I decided to drop twenty and punt after about 6 hours of stitching on Ana. I am trying to stitch from stash and this latest start already had the floss purchased for it. I pulled the fabric from another project and got out the Q-Snaps. I have wanted to stitch this one for quite some time now. I have held off on stitching fall related projects, as last year, I began in mid July and was burned out by October. Fall for this establishment does not end until the day after Thanksgiving. That's quite a lot of time to not be stitching on my favorite themes of fall and Halloween!

A Finish For Ozzy

I managed to get a finish for Finish Friday, however it was quite late and had to wait until this morning in order to get a good picture of the finished product. I am happy that I finished stitching this one as I really did not want it to sit for so long it wound up in the Bin O'Shame. I was, however, resigned to that actually happening. I wasn't feeling up to stitching any more on Maleficent so I picked this one up and hammered it out until it was finished. I wound up meeting the 400 stitch goal on that one anyway, so no bigs. I was a lot further along on this one than the last posting, however, my Oz Man was terribly sick at the time, so I did not post any updates on this one. 

With this finish, this marks 21 non Bin O'Shame finishes for the year 2015. This is almost double my unofficial standing yearly goal of 12 finishes per year, or one per month.

Accouterments: Mill Hill beads in #00167 Christmas Green.  Mill Hill #12184 Small Crescent Moon in Matte Crystal.

I miss him now more than ever, as it's gotten a wee bit cold here and I miss his cuddling terribly. While I love our other fur babies, they are not prolific cuddlers as Ozzy was.

Comfort Stitching

Has anyone else ever indulged in comfort stitching? Just picking out a project that you think would be of solace to you during a difficult time and just indulging in stitching rather than obsessively checking the chart versus what's on the fabric? Since I have one very, very ill kitty (whom I will probably lose sooner, rather than later due to probable cancer), I have taken to stitching non-challenging pieces. I do not think that I can handle an overly complicated piece that requires vast amounts of attention. I chose this latest project because it has a quilt like feel to it. I have always loved quilts and find them homey and comforting. And both kitty and myself are sorely in need of comforting at this time. I also chose this one as it does not have either a definite fall or Halloween feel to it. Rather, it feels like both at the same time. Which, in my opinion, is perfect for the month of September.
