WIP Wednesday Finish
This weeks' project is another one that I have wanted to stitch up for quite some time. I used the materials that I had in house, as I did not want to kit up yet another project. I love these little tucks. It's always nice to have an alternative to framing things!
At any rate, here is today's offering:
At any rate, here is today's offering:
Design: 2011 Valentine Quaker
Began: Monday, August 14, 2017
Finished: Wednesday, August 16, 2017
Stitcher's Notes: This was a Secret Shop purchase in either 2011 or 2012. Tuck was included with purchase of the chart. Scrap fabric used to complete project.
Time to be off. I must clean up my stitching area and find something else to stitch. I hope everyone is having a great week.
Happy stitching!

Sea Flora Update And A Zone Out Finish
Hope everyone is having a great week. This week has been a bit stressful at work, so last night I picked out a a quick to do project that I could just zone out on. I was not up for stitching anything that required a great deal of concentration and this fit the bill. And I just LOVE this color. I am going to have to purchase a great deal more of this vibrant shade of teal blue.
At any rate, here is my finish:
At any rate, here is my finish:
Design: Teal Butterfly Tuck
Designer: Sandra Dering of SanMan Originals
Fabric: 28 count white Monaco
Floss Used: The Gentle Art Sampler Threads in Tutti Frutti
Stitcher's Notes: This was a SanMan Originals Secret Shop exclusive. Bling that is used was included in the purchase of the chart. I will update notes if I ever manage to locate the manufacturer. The tuck was handmade by Sandra Dering of SanMan Originals and was included with the chart and buttons.
Am I allowed to say that Sea Flora has been going swimmingly so far? After the initial hair pulling stages, stitching has been going a lot easier for some reason. I am still having to take my time with this one and I can't just rip through it, like I have been here lately. Perhaps she is telling me that I need to slow down and just enjoy the summer and the progress I am making. Food for thought at least :).
Well, here she is:
Design: Sea Flora #NC194
Designer: Nora Corbett for Wichelt Imports
Fabric: 28 count Caribbean Blue jobelan by Wichelt Imports

Mardi Gras Finish
Today was such a nice day. I had the day off and went over to Stitcher's Paradise with my friend Barb to get supplies for a couple of projects that needed wrapping up. I managed to color match the purple and finished this up in less than ten minutes. I loved stitching this one and I loved choosing which of the masks that i was going to use with this design. When I purchased the chart from another SanMan member, she included a package of 6 mask charms. Out of all the ones in the package, these two were my favorites.
Well, at any rate, on with the show!
Design: Mardi Gras (exclusive Member Only chart)
Designer: Sandra Dering of SanMan Originals
Fabric: 28 count Zweigart Lugana evenweave in Rainbow Sparkle by Silkweaver in their Reflections line.
Fibers Used: Access Commodities Soie d'Alger in #215 Emerald, #521 Yellow, and #1336 Very Dark Purple.
Bling Used: Mill Hill beads in #00128 Crayon Yellow, #00167 Christmas Green, and #02085 Brilliant Orchid
Stitcher's Notes: The three traditional colors of Mardi Gras (purple, green and gold), honors the Three Kings who visited the Christ child on Epiphany, the twelfth day after Christmas. The colors represent Justice (purple), Faith (green) and Power (gold).
There have been updates concerning the fire that recently broke out at one of the Au Ver A Soie factories in France. Thankfully, no one was injured. It will take some time to get that particular factory set back to rights. Hopefully, it will not take the family long.
Well, I had best be off. I need to get going on dinner tonight. Hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend!

Finished For Now
Am I the only one that ever underestimates the amount of floss that is needed for a project? Please tell me that I am not. I got today's project out yesterday as it was Mardi Gras yesterday and I have never stitched anything Mardi Gras related in the 20 some odd years I have been stitching. I wanted to stitch this in silks, and found the perfect purple, however, that seems to be the color that I ran out of, darn it! So instead of Mardi Gras, I have Mar Gras today as I need to wait until I can get to the LNS (après payday, natch!) in order to procure the additional floss needed to actually finish this project. Ah, well, pictures anyway!

Merry Turkey Coma Day!
Merry Turkey Coma Day to you all! Hope everyone in the US had a happy Thanksgiving. We went to my MIL's and had a good time. Both DH and I have to work today, but we are ok with this as going out in the AM on 'Black Friday' is the equivalent to having one's teeth drilled in our opinion. :)
I managed to get a finish in yesterday. It's another SMO that I've had since 2006. I've been stitching these a lot lately, but since I haven't stitched any SMO's in a while, it's all good. I have a project that I am starting today, as it is now 'officially' the start of the holiday season. I am looking forward to stitching this one. Well, at any rate, on with the show! ;)

Last Fall Finish
I managed to get a fast finish in last night and in all likelihood, it will be my last fall theme piece of the year. I wanted one more before I started in Winter/Christmas themed pieces. I have a list of projects that I want to stitch during the holidays, however, I seem to be one of those people who cannot stick to a list. Good intentions and what have you!
Well, at any rate, here is the latest finish. I really enjoyed stitching it.
Design: Autumn
Designer: Sandra Dering of SanMan Originals
Fibers Used: DMC 838. SanMan Strands in Autumn Orange. Victorian Motto Sampler Shop floss in Christmas Red. The Gentle Art Sampler Threads in Buttercrunch.

Finish for The Hubmeister
A really quick finish for The Hubmeister. It's now hanging above his desk. He loves it, but I think it needs a camping type button or something.
Design: Let's Go Camping
Designer: Sandra Dering for SanMan Originals Secret Shop
Floss: Leftover DMC from the Leftover Bag
Fabric: 28 count Monaco fabric hand dyed by me (Heavy Cream)

DH is taking me out for a bit. Hope everyone is having a good week!

(Cross Stitching) Chicken Soup for the Soul
I've been bummed the last couple of days because today my FH and I were supposed to be married, however, due to plain ole economics, it just wasn't feasible. We opted instead to get married next year, and having a bit of a bigger wedding than originally planned, however, it still doesn't mean that I'm not bummed about it not happening.
At any rate, the past 2 days, I've turned to stitching to keep me busy. I turned to a specific designer, in this case, SanMan Originals. I have been a member of Sandy's board since early 2003, if not before. There is just something comforting and familiar about her designs, so I've reached for her designs to help pull me out of my minor funk. Here is the fruits of my labors.
(Please note that the usual disclaimers, provisos, and quid pro quos apply: Not for resale, Member Only patterns.)
Secret Shop 'Autumn Leaves'. 28 ct natural Pearl Linen, various cotton and silk flosses.
October 2008 SMO newsletter gift. 28 ct natural Pearl Linen, various cotton and silk flosses.
So, who is the designer or design that you turn to in order to feel better?
