Getting A Head Start On Halloween

While I am awaiting another loaner chart from the Blackbird Designs Lending Library , I decided that I could wait no longer to stitch on a Halloween or Fall related piece. I have been really indifferent towards stitching, despite the  happy dance that occurred when I procured more long sought after Good Huswif and Primitive Needle designs. 

I saw this one in the 2016 Just Cross Stitch Halloween bookazine (Issue four, Volume 9) and knew right away this was the next piece that I was going to stitch. I do not have a sewing machine in order to make this into a pillow as it is finished in the bookazine. But perhaps with the forthcoming fall and halloween merchandise that is already appearing in Michael's and Joann's, I will be able to finish this in a different way. 

At any rate, here is the latest finish:

Fabric Used: 36 count Edinburgh linen by Hand Dyed Fibers in 

Xenops 5315 (equivalent to DMC 762, very pale grey)

Fibers Used: Crescent Colours Belle Soie silk in Old Crow

Stitcher's Notes: Chart featured on page 85 of the 2016 Just Cross Stitch Halloween bookazine (Issue four, Volume 9). Began Thursday, July 14, 2016. Finished Saturday, July 16, 2016.

Well, time for me to go. I need to clean up my stitching area and find something else to stitch on.

Clean Up In Aisle 3!

I wanted just one more from the bin to round out the first three months of the year, and I managed to finish this up just moments ago. This makes 13 from the Bin O'Shame for the year to date. This also means that I am on track to finish 25 from that Bin before the year is out.  I am so terribly excited about that!

Miss Phryne Fisher and Mr. Macintosh

I love Netflix. For not much money, you can binge watch all sorts of series. Since I had worked my way through the entire Poirot series and I've hit the halfway point through Murder, She Wrote, Netflix had suggested another series, this time Miss Fishers Murder Mysteries. It is produced in Australia and if I may say so, this is a cracking good series. The series is set in the 1920's Melbourne, Australia. the costumes and the writing is first rate. The only trouble is, I stopped the next UFO that I had gotten out in order to stitch on something in the style of Art Deco. I went looking into the Bin O'Shame and found this one that had already been started. The stitches had gotten squashed and it didn't look very pretty. So, I decided to get another piece of fabric out and I re-started the project. I started it late Friday night and managed to finish it up just a bit ago.

Fibers Used:  DMC Six Strand Embroidery Floss Art. 117 in 413, 552, 917, 991, 992, and 3608. 

Stitcher's Notes: Restarted and finished this long term UFO. Began Friday, March 6, 2015. Finished stitching Sunday, March 8, 2015.

This one has the added bonus of coming out of the Bin O'Shame, so I can add this to my list. Woohoo! DH informed me earlier that he also loves the Art deco/ Art Nouveau style. This makes me happy, as I was wanting to 'redo' the common areas of the house (kitchen, living room, etc) in that style, but I was worried that he would hate it. So, tonight was a double yay! :)

Well, at any rate, I need to get the desk cleaned up and get things sorted. Lots to do before work tomorrow. Hope everyone had a fantastic weekend! :)

A Long Time Coming Finish

Some finishes take longer than others. Some you never finish, and some you put aside as it's just boring or there are too many color changes. For whatever reason, they're just get set aside. I've really been riding the wave of finishing up those that have been languishing in the Bin O' Shame and managed to finish this latest one up just a bit ago. I re-did the beadwork as the beads weren't sitting correctly and I didn't like the way it looked. I forgot to take the 'before' photo, but oh, well. :)

Bee Pinkeep finish and the best news ever!!

Finished up a quick design last night by Country Cottage Needleworks . I only stitched the inner portion of the design, as the fabric was simply not big enough to complete the whole design. Which is ok, because this means I get to stitch it again, LOL! :)

I am having my stitching time curtailed because as of last night I became employed again after 2.5 years! Wahoo!!! My Nevada state license finally came in yesterday and I called up the place I had interviewed in a couple of months ago and left a message with the hiring manager to that effect. She called me back last night and offered me a job! I start today at 1:30, so I had better go shake a leg! I have some stuff to take care of before I go into work!
