Attack of the Purple Blob

Making a really good progress on my Letter Q/O Nora Corbett fairy. She's stitching up VERY quickly. I am really enjoying stitching her up while watching the XXII Winter Olympics on TV. I took a bit of a break while watching the US Women's Hockey Team play vs Finland. I felt so so sorry for the ladies Finnish goaltender, Noora Räty. She played her heart out and was the reason Finland didn't lose as bad as they could have. She played her little heart out and I hope Finland is proud of her. I am now a fan of hers and will continue to follow her progress. I so, so, SOOOOOO wish women were allowed to play in the NHL! There's a LOT of talent out there and I think the NHL would benefit from it.

While I was watching the game, I was not idle. I sorted through my stash and am planning on having a sale. It will probably be through either a list here on my blog or pictures on Photobucket. I have a a dream I am currently trying to chase down, so it has become necessary that I part with some of my almost 20 year stash in order to make this dream a reality. So stay tuned for that! :)

At any rate, here is my Letter O, AKA The Purple Blob:

Design: Letters from Nora Letter Q  (now Letter O)

Designer: Nora Corbett

Fabric Used: 28 count Cashel linen in Minty Green Opalescent

Fibers Used: Crescent Colours  cotton floss in Argyle Socks, Cloud, Cobbled Peach, Heatherleigh, Hickory Sticks, Hydrangea, La Tierra, Vintage Violet, Wisconsin Woods. Kreinik (#4) Braid in Blue Merengue #3514.  Mill Hill glass seed beads in #00252 Iris, size 11/0 2.5 MM, Crystal Treasures #13063 Champagne Fuchsia rondeles size 4 MM, and Petite Seed Beads in #42027 Champagne, Size 15/0 2.0 MM.

Stitcher's Notes:  XXII Winter Olympics project. Letter Q substituted for Letter O. Will leave the 'tail' of the Q off of the design. My LNS did not have letter O in stock, however, I liked the letter Q better anyway so it all worked out! :)

What it will eventually look like (minus the tail!):
