Farewell, My Constant Companion

On Tuesday, September 7, 2015 at approximately 715 AM, we had to say goodbye to our Ozzy. He had declined so rapidly there was nothing else to be done. He was refusing all food, water, and medication. It has been the most heartbreaking last few days. I miss him so, so much. He was my guardian and constant companion since we lost the baby back in 2009. From the day I came home from the hospital until the day he left us, he was there for me and loved me unconditionally. While I am happy he is no longer hurting, there is a huge empty hole in my heart and soul for the time being. The other feline residents of the house have been attentive and sweet towards DH and I during this time. And for that, I am truly grateful.

Since I have lost all desire to stitch a single thing, I have taken it upon myself to clean and rearrange everything in the house. This includes moving my desk back into my office and cleaning everything that isn't tied nailed or glued to the floor. I suppose eventually I will enjoy the fruits of these labors. The vet called last night to say Ozzy's ashes were back and we could pick up his memorial at any time. I have found a place in my office where he can be near by.

This is one of my favorite pictures of Ozzy:

And I sincerely hope this is true:

Well, I had best be off. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.

Respectfully submitted,

C.
