Thrilling Thirty!

I can't believe I managed it, however, just a bit ago I managed to finish stitching the 30th project out of the Bin O'Shame.  The journey began Tuesday, February 24, 2015 and officially ended Saturday, July 25, 2015 with the finish of the flag that was stitched for my beloved father. I added 5 more projects on just to see fi I could finish them before the end of the year. The official goal of 25 having been met a mere 5 months after I started was none too shabby a showing. I figured 5 more could conceivably be finished in the remaining months and I am so happy that I was able to achieve that goal with this latest finish.

Well, on with the show! :)

Effulgent Eighteen

It took less than a week, but I managed to squeak in one more  Bin O'Shame project up before the end of May. This makes number 18 out of that Bin and I am so happy about that. I am also very happy about getting to work in some smaller projects that I have been wanting to do for some time now. All around May Madness! :)

Well, at any rate, here is today's  Bin O'Shame project finished:

Designer: Nathalie Cichon of Jardin Privé

Fabric Used: 32 count Belfast linen Periwinkle Prism by Silkweaver from their Reflections line.

Fibers Used: Access Commodities Soie d'Alger  in Noir and #3441 Light Silver Grey. Kreinik metallic thread #4 #001 HL Silver.

Beads Used:  Mill Hill beads in #00167 Christmas Green

Stitcher's Notes: Fabric was originally listed as 32 count Belfast linen in Meditation by Picture This Plus. The fabric is actually 32 count Belfast linen Periwinkle Prism by Silkweaver from their Reflections line.

With this finish, this means that I may get back to Sea Flora as my Summer 2015 project. I have quite a few ideas for her and I cannot wait to see how they play out. Should be good times!

Well, I had best be off. Dinner is just about ready. Hope everyone is having a fantastic week!

WIP Update And A Shout Out

Firstly, I would love to give a shout out to Joanne, of 123 Stitch. I had let her know about the stitch count being VERY off  on Sea Flora a while back on the 10th of this month. She wrote back saying that although I did not purchase the fabric from her, she wanted to send me the entire fat quarter gratis in order to make up for it. At first I was hesitant, as this would mean should would be out of a $17.00 sale. She asked again and this time I figured she meant it, so I took her up on her very generous offer. The  28 count Caribbean Blue jobelan by Wichelt Imports showed up in the mail Wednesday, and I am so very, very happy about that. I thanked her profusely for her generosity and kindness. IMO, she did not have to do that, but she did it anyway.

I have decided that I am going to work with the project as it stands now. I have a couple of ideas floating around, so I am anxious to get back to the project. Particularly after The Hubmeister managed to make me a working copy that I can actually see the symbols. It will be my summer project after I manage to finish this current  Bin O'Shame project up.

Well, here is where I am so far. Slowly but surely getting there!

Back On The Chain Gang

I have made a decision since my last post regarding the issues surrounding Sea Flora. I have decided to to finagle the design so it can be stitched in some form. In other words, work with what I have, and add elements from some other designs and/or create something myself. I am still admittedly in somewhat in a snit over this debacle. As such, I have decided to set her aside for a while in order to calm down a bit more. I have a plan for her, and it will involve a fair amount of finagling. Since I have all summer to stitch on her, I will remain calm and carry on stitching. I blindly reached into the  Bin O'Shame and this next project is what came up. It's going quite quickly now and I am really enjoying it. It got off to a slow start, but I am hoping that it can be finished fairly quickly. Now that I said that, let's hope Mr. Frog doesn't show up, haha!

At any rate, here is what will eventually #18 from the  Bin O'Shame

Ana vs. The Mermaid

Woke up yesterday to a gawd awful headache due to sinus pressure. I could not concentrate on anything for very long, and I really did need a break from the Letter B fairy. I promise I will get back to her, but I really did need a break from fairies. She's not 'due' until almost September anyway :D.  As consequence, I began Bluebeard's Princess,  however, I had to stop shortly after, as the smaller holes were straining my eyes a bit with the headache that I had. Soooooo...out came Ana, a Bewitching Pixie, by the esteemed Nora Corbett. She's turning out very well, and I got quite a bit of the DMC 310 out of the way. :)

Well, at any rate, here are my Nora Corbett ladies, with their requisite pertinents.  :)

I have no idea of what I am going to do about the beadwork on a 40 count. I am in search of beads small enough, but I do not know if I will be able to find them and if they will be the correct colors. Ah, well. I will cross that bridge when I get to it! :)

Welp, I best be off. Need to clean off the desk and decide which of the ladies gets attention for the day. Hope everyone is having a fantastic week! :)
