UFO Finish!

Woohoo! Finally a finish and a long term UFO at that! I had to wait until I could get the beads, but I managed to earlier today. I may put a purple collar on the kitty at a later time, but for right now, this one is done. :)

Here are the pertinents and such:

Design: Halloween Fairy (Trick or Treat Fairy) from the September 2008 Cross Stitch and Needlework magazine

Designer: Nora Corbett

Fabric Used: 32 count Cashel linen in Fog by Picture This Plus from their Crystal (opalescent) line.

Fibers Used:  DMC in 300, 451, 452, 779, 838, 869, 920, 922, 948, 3354, 3371, and 3743. Kreinik (#4) Braid in #002 HL #008 HL Green, #102 Vatican Gold, #150V Vintage Amber, Blending Filament in #092 Star PinkRainbow Gallery Petite Treasure Braid in PB44 (Autumn Red). Glissen Gloss Sparkle metallic in SP01

Beads Used: Mill Hill beads in 00556 Antique Silver, 02011 Victorian Gold, 02023 Root Beer, 02034 Autumn Flame, 03049 Rich Red, and 42014 Petite Black.

Stitcher's notes: As of this writing, I do not know where the chart for the kitty came from. S/he was found in a binder of cross stitch charts that I had for a long time and I tweaked the design to fit how I needed it to fit. The chart itself has no designer information such as name, blog, etc. Should I find the designer, I will be happy to post a link to the designer and give him/her credit. Began stitching on Saturday, September 21, 2008.

Almost A Finish WIP Wednesday

Skipped last week's WIP Wednesday post as I had not stitched a whole heck of a lot. This was due to my not feeling up to it and also having to make some decisions regarding the design. I was waffling on stitching it as Nora Corbett intended or 'futz' with it and make it a sort of one of a kind. I spent HOURS deliberating on ghosts vs. cats vs. witch hats vs. merely rearranging pumpkins. At any rate, here is where I am prior to beading:

Once I get past the beading, I am probably going to wait until Halloween stuff comes out in the craft stores so I can find some treasures to bling her out some more. I am probably also going to extend the pumpkin vies to the right of Kitty, but not by much.

Welp, I best be off. I have to do battle with the Beading Monster. Hope everyone is having a great week! :)

Long Time, No See! :)

Good morning, Campers! How is everyone doing out there in Bloggerland? Me? I've been busier than a one legged man in a butt kicking contest. Hasn't left any time at all hardly for stitching, as I have been just too tired to stitch. The other night, however, I got the urge to stitch again and managed to be able to sit down for more than half an hour. I pulled out a WIP (bordering on UFO!) and a Heaven and Earth Designs   project at that. I wanted color and a lot of it, and you cant beat a HAED for that, haha! There's 90 colors in this one, and every last one is bright and sunny and it makes me smile just to look at the project box. :)

The last time I posted anything about this project was when I first started it. on June 3, 2011, so it's been a minute for this one. I am really, really loving working on this one and I haven't been able to put it down. Here is the update, with the previous picture for comparison. First, the particulars:

Fabric: 18 count aida in Antique White

Fibers: DMC as charted. Rainbow Gallery Petite Treasure Braid in PB10

Previously:

As of last night:

What she will look like eventually, after 15 pages of stitching:

I am VERY pleased with my progress on this one so far. The blues are so soothing to stitch and I am finding that the Rainbow Gallery Petite Treasure Braid in PB10 is perfect for the 18 count aida. And it's a lot less pain in the ass to deal with than the Kreinik! :D

Well, I best be off. Stuff to do before work and all. Hope everyone is having a great Sunday! :)

Here a WIP, there a WIP, every where a WIP WIP

Goooooood morning, sports fans! Hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season so far. I have made little progress on my Thread Basket SAL and have even started yet another project. I have decided that I am going to treat the 2012 WIPocalypse hosted by Measi as a Bacchanalian free for all fest. I have all of my WIP and UFO bags dragged out and on stand by. I am going to start with the projects that are in my stitching area and then I am just going to grab one out of the bags and GO. I am NOT going to make any lists of specific projects to get done, because when I did that this year, I was less than successful. As in I only completed FOUR out of the TWENTY ONE I had wanted to do. For the most part, this also means going on the wagon and not buying a anything other than the odd floss that I ran out of and/or didn't have. I may buy the odd chart now and then, because let's face it, we are spoiled enough to have wonderful designers who manage to produce such lovely things, and Nashville Market is in a few months, and you know what THAT means. Guaranteed stitchy goodness and probably overtime for me to pay for it. :D

At any rate, here is what I have so far on my stitching:

WIP #1:

Design: A La Belle Etoile SAL

Designer: The Thread Basket with C Mon Mode

Fabric: 28 count silk and linen in natural by Wichelt

Fibers: Crescent Colours Belle Soie silk in Empress, Ivy League, Sweet Lavender, and Tumbleweed. Gumnut Yarns Stars silk floss in #991 ecru. KreinikVery Fine (#4) Braid in 001 Silver.

WIP#2:

Design: Sew Red

Designer: iStitch Designs

Fabric: 28 count linen in Vintage by Fleur de Luce Hand Dyeds

Fibers: Au Ver a Soie Soie d' Alger 7-strand silk floss in 2926. Rainbow Gallery Petite Treasure Braid in PB03 Gold.

Well, I am off for now. I have a mild headache and looking at the computer screen is hurting my eyes a bit. I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday with all joy, peace, and lots of eats and treats! :)
