La Belle Lettre C finish

Managed to finish this up late last night. I had started it at some point in time to test out fabric and floss combinations for the chart. While I like this combination, I am not sure that I will stitch the whole chart with this fabric. It was of a pain to stitch on due to the unevenness of the linen. Ah, well. That was the whole point of the exercise, eh ;)? 

Well, here are the fruits of my labors:

The Grateful Post

Went to Hobby Lobby to procure some Kreinik #4 001 silver braid and found that they were having a sale on picture frames. Looked around for a minute and saw one that I thought would look good with the recently completed Prairie Schooler Christmas Cabin . I got the frame at a VERY reasonable price and got it all framed up and ready to go. All I need to do now is to make the Christmas card and wrap it up all pretty and send it off to its’ recipient! I also need to make one for DH and myself. Last night he commented that it was too pretty to give it away, LOL! I told him I need to go to Stitcher's Paradise and get some more fabric and some more Access Commodities Soie d'Alger. If I stitch the design as completed, I will need quite a large piece of fabric. Oh, woe is me, LOL!

Christmas Cabin finish!

Wahoo! I finished it! And a week a head of schedule! Yay! Now all I need to do is find the right frame for it and get it framed, gussied up in Christmas wrapping and send it off to its' new owner! I'm so excited! I love the way it turned out and cannot *wait* to do one for myself and The Hubmeister!

Well, I hate to show of a finish and run, but I have to go get breakfast and get ready to go to Stitcher's Paradise today for the Wednesday stitch in. I am starting a new project today, Carriage House Samplings Companion Quaker Christmas Tree Sampler . I have a specific fabric in mind, and I think I am going to do this as a monochrome with some Crescent Colours Belle Soie silk. Yay! A finish and stash shopping! :D

Another Christmas Cabin update

Managed to get some more work done on the Christmas Cabin. The red is *really* making it pop. The good news is that I might even be done by next Tuesday or Wednesday! Yippee! Then I get to pick out the frame and get it off to its' destination ahead of schedule. Woohoo!

PS Christmas Cabin update

Got to go to Stitcher's Paradise today for the Wednesday stitch in and managed to get a fair bit done between last night and today. I am really pleased with the way the piece is turning out and I can't wait to see it finished! :) I think it's going to turn out nicely and I should have it finished by Thanksgiving. I have a three day weekend then, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. I am going to make sure that ALL of my chores are done before then, so I can stitch my little paws off! :D

Two latest finishes

Wow. Just... WOW. I have two more finishes for this month, totaling 17 for the year. That is well over my one a month goal, so I feel pretty good about that. Next year I am wanting to finish up one UFO per month. I really do need to get this mess either stitched up or traded off with someone. I feel bad about the amount of stuff I have let pile up. :/


On December 17, I begin my two week break from school. I am hoping to get some stitching time in. Hopefully, this will mean four new ornaments, but I am not going to push myself. I am still dealing with the horrible grief of losing the baby and Christmas is going to be rough, if not flat out sucking. I miss my son every day and Christmas will be particularly brutal. :(

Kreinik #8 Braid in 002 Vatican Gold.

Accouterments: Mill Hill beads in #62031 (Frosted Old Gold).

The original designed called for DMC White, Black, 433, 3051 and 3052, 5282 Gold Metallic, a 28 count Clay Cashel from Zweigart and Mill Hill beads in 00557. Approximate DMC colors for the Soie d'Alger would be Ecru, 310, 321, 367, 890, and 898. Please note that these are *my* conversions and YMMV. :).

 





Had clinic today and managed to get three credit hours toward my 30 hours total I need of working with the public. I am dog tired, but I am going to pull some fabric and threads for my next start and hopefully start it. :P

Queen Bee

Got back yesterday from my extended trip to DC and I am beat. The process of just flying is more than I can deal with, let alone the time zone changes.

Here is a pic of the only finish I had while I was in the DC metro area for over a month. I had brought plenty of stitching with me, I just didn't feel like stitching a whole lot and I was busy trying to find a job (which I was unsuccessful at, thankyouforplaying).
