So I had three days off from work, which was a good thing, as my hands are basically killing me. It's been 15 years or more since I've worked with my hands in such a manner and it will take time to build back up. That and no longer being 21 is not helping any, LOL! :P Yesterday, I spent a LOT of time icing my hands down and trying to work them in other ways. I decided to do some other types of crafting as holding the Q-Snap frame is really hurting my hands. I've stuck to putting together smaller projects and doing some general cleaning. In the course of my cleaning, I found even more WIPs and UFOs, so my total has gone back up to about 50 now. Le sigh. I really shouldn't beat myself up about it, but I'm a bit bummed. I was really feeling good about the progress I had made, but then I found the others. Well, I still finished 35 of them, so that cannot be taken away. I've organized my bins and what all, so I now have a bin devoted to just WIPs and UFOs and I'll just continue on as I have. I may revisit some of them, as I am not sure I will ever finish some of them. I will cross that bridge when I get to it I guess. :)
At any rate, here is my two WIPs that I have been working on. Stitchy notes included! :)

Haven't gotten this one out in a while. Decided to have another go at it, as my last update was April 6th of this year. It's a gorgeous sampler, and I'm glad I got it while it was still a freebie.
At any rate, here are my stitchy notes and the pic :)
Design: Paris Sampler (former freebie)Designer: Ria Lanser of StofnestFabric: 28 count Jobelan evenweave in Café au Lait hand dyed by meFibers: DMC 839, 840, and 841 and a hand dyed floss by me; Heavy Cream
I have actually thought about doing this one again, but use a seasonal type threads instead of the sepia tones in this one. I will have to revisit that after I am through stitching this one and I've gotten more WIPs and UFOs finished. :)
Hope everyone is having a good week! :)

Got another one under my belt and about four more queued up to be worked on, LOL! Had a lot of fun with this one despite the 32 count fabric. I know there are folks out there who won't touch a thing under 40 count, but really, my eyes ain't what they used to be and the 32 count is a bit of a strain. I'm happy this one is finished and I'm off to my next finishing adventure! :)
Here are the stitchy notes and the picture! :)
Design: Red House In Winter
Designer: Diane Williams for Little House Needleworks
Fabric: Vintage Belfast linen 32 count count in Country Mocha
Fibers: Crescent Colours in Bing Cherry, DMC in 433, 712, 3031, 3362, and 3838.
Errata: Used DMC 3362 in place of 3051 as I did not have that skein. Added smoke coming out of chimney on right hand side. The original design does not have this element.

Well, I best be off. I have to stitch my behind off tomorrow and Monday, for I hopefully begin work on Tuesday! :D
Hope everyone is having a great weekend! :)

Finished up a quick design last night by Country Cottage Needleworks . I only stitched the inner portion of the design, as the fabric was simply not big enough to complete the whole design. Which is ok, because this means I get to stitch it again, LOL! :)
At any rate, here are my stitchy notes and the picture:
Design: Bee Pinkeep
Designer: Nikki Lehman of Country Cottage Needleworks for Gift of Stitching magazine. Issue 12; January 2007.
Fabric: 28 count natural Glasgow linen
Fibers: DMC 437, 716, 3011, 3012, 3371, 3712, 3865

I am having my stitching time curtailed because as of last night I became employed again after 2.5 years! Wahoo!!! My Nevada state license finally came in yesterday and I called up the place I had interviewed in a couple of months ago and left a message with the hiring manager to that effect. She called me back last night and offered me a job! I start today at 1:30, so I had better go shake a leg! I have some stuff to take care of before I go into work!
Hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend! :)

Here's a quick picture of my latest finish. It was a real quick stitch, despite my dragging my feet on it. Temps here have been running in the 105-110 degree range and I heard tell of it being 115 the other day. In other words, It's too blinkin' hot to stitch! :P
At any rate, here is the pic and the stitchy notes:
Design: Summer
Designer: The Stitcherhood
Fabric: 28 count raw Cashel linen by Zweigart
Fibers: DMC B5200, Crescent Colours in Crushed Pineapple, Grannie Annie and Snips and Snails.

Hope everyone is trying to stay cool! :)

Wasn't feeling well enough to stitch hardly at all yesterday, I decided to do some stitchy clean up of floss that I had finished using and general tidying up. I got to thinking about all of the projects that I have just hanging around and that I've been really trying to clean that up, as it was 65 or so at last count. So, I got the brilliant idea to take a bit of an inventory, just to see where I actually stood. The results were surprising, to say the least:
Finishes in my possession: 145
WIPs/UFOs: 35
Previous WIP/UFO count: 65
Currently kitted up and not started: 25
The finishes are what are actually in my personal possession. This is not counting the ones that I have worked up and given away as gifts. All in all, I suppose it's not *too* bad. I have DEFINITELY gotten the UFO/WIP pile down considerably, and for that I am really, really happy about. I have a bunch near the bed and in my DMC travel bag, so they are all ready to go after I finish the one that I currently have in the Q-snaps. I am hoping to get more of these completed this year, so I can really make this the year of the UFO.
When I was going through things, I was also reminded that I have Sandy's Winter Side to do to complete the set. It seems like a good time to at least get it kitted up for SMO Sundays, as it's supposed to be 105 here today, with about 20% humidity. Ugh. The Mojave Hairdryer is in full effect. Yuck.
At any rate, I suppose I best be off. Got one project that is 90% done and it's a 2 YEAR UFO (I got one of them older than that! :O). I am hoping to get it completed either today or tomorrow. Yay! One down and 34 more to go, LOL!
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Finally finished stitching up my own work last night. I needed to fill in the border that I had made for it, and in doing so, I found a couple of things that needed to be changed. Just a couple of tiny OOPSIE! It's inevitable I suppose. I got mad at myself because it wasn't perfect right out of the gate, but then again, I thought of all the designers where I had to write down corrections to patterns I have and then I didn't worry too much. I could be in worse company, yea? :)
Corrections can be found here .
Here are my stitchy notes and pictures!
Design: First Harvest
Designer: Cindy W for Fleur de Luce Designs
Fabric: 28 count natural linen
Fibers: DMC 310, 318, 347, 676, 832, 937, 938, 3830 and 3865

Well, I need to boogie. It's laundry day today and I think I might be coming down with a cold to boot. :(. Hope everyone is having a good day! :)

Got a really quick finish under my belt. This has been kitted up for a while, I just never got around to it. Took a bit longer than anticipated, due to my having sinus issues and Mr. Frog paying me a visit. (Booooooo!). I added in an extra color, as I didn't want it in just the four colors used. I like the way it turned out. Love the CCN, yea? :)
At any rate, here's the stitchy notes and pictures! :)
Design: Bloom
Designer: Country Cottage Needleworks
Fabric: Zweigart 28 count raw Cashel linen
Fibers: Crescent Colours Pink Champagne, DMC B5200, 727, 937, and 3347.

I have my First Harvest design all queued up. I need to finish the border on it and then it's finally complete! Yay! I best be off. I need to do some chores before I get to stitch some more. :)
Hope everyone is having a good day today! :)

Happy Birthday, America! 234 years never looked so good! :)
I managed to get some stitching time in today and got two tiny finishes under my belt. I am loading up some old UFO's and WIP's to get done, simply because I am tired of having so many starts and not enough finishes. I am hoping to get some more done within the next couple of days. Then it will be time to pull out the bins of stuff I have and work on those. Anyhoo, on with the finishes! :)
Finish #1:
Design: Happy Boom Boom!
Designer: Stitches and Stones for Kreinik Threads
Fabric: 28 count Zweigart raw linen
Fibers: Needle Necessities #1091 Independence Day, Kreinik Metallics in #4 Very Fine Braid #001 Silver, #8 Braid in #002 Gold, Blending Filament in #045 and 051 HL. DMC #5269.

It's finally completed! With a border and everything! Woohoo! Many, many, MANY thanks to Kelly (Annabelle) of the SMO boards who donated her valuable time and talent to convert my pen and paper chart into a readable pdf file for me. It was very, very sweet of her to do this and I am so appreciative!
Here is the post with the chart:
First Harvest Chart
If you stitch the design, please send me photos. I would be honored if anyone actually stitched it and sent me pics of their work!
Happy July 4th to those in the US and Happy Canada Day to all of the Canadians out there!
