Well, shoot....

I do believe that after almost 10 years, my Canon Powershot A520 has finally bit the dust. I need to have Teh Hubmeister take a look at it, however, I am fearing the worst. It's been a good little camera, although it drained batteries like a vampire. (I even nicknamed it Vlad!). My apologies for the update picture that I took just a bit ago. While it was taken on my iPhone 5c, this particular shot isn't very good. But at least you'll get the gist. Which all that counts, I suppose. :)

Welp, here she is:

Design: Halloween Fairy (Trick or Treat Fairy) from the September 2008 Cross Stitch and Needlework magazine

Designer: Nora Corbett

Fabric Used: 32 count Cashel linen in Fog by Picture This Plus from their Crystal (opalescent) line.

Trick or Treat Fairy Update and a Fast Finish

A quick post updating my Halloween Fairy (Trick or Treat Fairy) from the September 2008 Cross Stitch and Needlework magazine. She's coming along nicely. I was hoping to be a bit further along than I am, however, I got distracted by a small kit by Shepherd's Bush. I really wanted to stitch something quick and summery, and this fit the bill. WIP pictures first, then onto the finish, yea?

Here is the Halloween Fairy (Trick or Treat Fairy) by Nora Corbett. Love, love, LOVE her designs!

Late Wednesday WIP post

For whatever reason, I have not been able to get back into stitching on The Easter Fairy. Maybe it's the (to me) confusing symbols for the flowers at the bottom of her dress. Maybe it's the confusing symbols on her hand. (Do I stitch an elongated cross stitch, or are those quarter stitches?). For whatever reason, I decided today to get out an oldie but a goody in the closet. I had seen this whilst I was looking for something else. Always the case, yea?

I have managed to get a fair amount of work done on this piece. Which really isn't saying much since it's languished since Saturday, September 27, 2008! (It was actually started on Saturday, September 21, 2008! o.O)

As always, here are the pertinents:

Framed Finishes

Howdy, y'all! Thought I would post two of my recent finishes now that they are framed up and ready to be given away.

Here is the first one, with the requisite notes :) :

Design: Let's Go To The Beach

Designer: Designer: Judy Whitman for JBW Designs

Fabric: 28 count Graziano Milan linen in white from Norden Crafts

Fibers: DMC Embroidery Floss Art 117 in 150, 159, 160, 161, 336, 435, and 3855

Here is the second finish:

Design: Harvest Sampler as featured in the Fall/Winter 1996 Holiday Crafts magazine by Better Homes and Gardens

Designer: Linda Reeves of La Broderie

Fabric: 28 count Cashel linen by Zweigart in Summer Khaki .

Fibers Used: DMC Flower Thread in 2400, 2433, 2434, 2613, 2782, 2898. Caron Collection Wildflowers thread in Fiesta and Marigold.

Accouterments: Mill Hill Beads in Number G02011 Victorian Gold. By Jupiter! apple charm in antique gold.

I purchased both frames at Hobby Lobby. They were both on sale at 50% off. I think both of the frames really set off the needlework. I hope the presents are well received!

Well, I best be off for now. I need to get to wrapping up these presents and I need to get some more stitching done. I've joined the 2012 WIPocalypse over at Measi's Musings. I am hoping to put a bigger dent into my stash next year. I would love to have to buy more tubs on account of my finishing so much and not because I bought more stuff. :P

Hope everyone's having a great day! :)

Not a large update, update

Haven't gotten a whole hell of a lot done here lately. Next to zero motivation and I woke up today with a horrid sinus headache and felt like I am coming down with a cough. Ugh. Hopefully tomorrow I will be able to stitch some and exercise more. But, ya neva know.

New WIP update

Good afternoon, all!

Got all my chores completed this morning, so I am getting my fairy back out after lunch to work on her some more. Not much done, but I will try and post a pic soon. She got delayed in starting, because I had bought all new floss, but the skein of 3371 got so tangled up and knotted when I tried to put it on the DMC StitchBow floss holder, I had to go to Michael's yesterday and get 2 new ones. I have NEVER had that happen with either the DMC or using the floss holders, so I guess I just got a bad skein. /shrug.

Anyhoo..... here is what I have so far. Nora Corbett's Trick or Treat Fairy from September 2008 Cross Stitch and Needlework magazine. 32 count overdyed linen from Picture This Plus in 'Fog'. DMC Threads. Frame by Q-Snap. John James platinum needle, size #26. Stitcheh Kitteh by God. :)

Here is a pic of the original fairy:

I am hoping I get her done by time time Halloween rolls around, but yanevaknow....

Hope everyone is having a good day today out there in cyberland. And remember: keep that sense of humor. It's critical!
