Woohoo! Another Finish!

I am very, very happy that I managed to finish this little guy up before the end of the month. It went a LOT quicker than I had anticipated and I had a lot of fun stitching it. I am not sure how I will finish this off, but for now, the stitching is done and I have my third finish of the month.

Design: Keep Love

Designer: Shepherd's Bush

Fabric Used: Weeks Dye Works' 30 count linen in Charlottes' Pink

Fibers Used: As provided in the kit.

Stitchers' Notes: Kit purchased complete from a Facebook cross stitch selling group. Left off wording. Third finish of 2018.

Time for me to be off. I hope everyone is having a great weekend. Happy stitching! :)

May 19, 2017 Edition Of Finish Friday

I managed to get this guy finished just in time for Memorial Day. Now that summer has decided to make an appearance, I am hoping that my mermaids will come out and play. I would also like to get a few more Americana themed projects completed.

I picked up this design on the secondary market. It contained the leftover threads and there is enough to stitch this piece at least twice more. This is nice as the design uses both solid and hand dyed silks. Naturally, I made some changes. DH likes how it turned out. I need to see if I cannot find an appropriate frame for this piece. If not, there is always a pillow or no sew finish route that I may take.

Well, at any rate, here is my latest finish.

Design: Tiny Flag

Designer: Shepherd's Bush

Fabric Used: 32 count Belfast linen by Silkweaver Fabric in Antique Almond

Fibers Used: Thread Gatherer's Silk n' Colors in Frosted Auburn, In the Burgundy, and Old Lace.  Au Ver À Soie  Soie d'Alger in 1435 and 3424.

Accoutrements: Mill Hill beads in #03049 Rich Red

Stitchers' Notes: Replaced beads for stitched flowers. Changed 'America' to read as 'We the People'. As the fabric was not included with the kit because it was purchased secondhand, previously purchased fabric from stash was used.

Time for me to be off. I hope everyone has a great weekend! :)

Trick or Treat Fairy Update and a Fast Finish

A quick post updating my Halloween Fairy (Trick or Treat Fairy) from the September 2008 Cross Stitch and Needlework magazine. She's coming along nicely. I was hoping to be a bit further along than I am, however, I got distracted by a small kit by Shepherd's Bush. I really wanted to stitch something quick and summery, and this fit the bill. WIP pictures first, then onto the finish, yea?

Here is the Halloween Fairy (Trick or Treat Fairy) by Nora Corbett. Love, love, LOVE her designs!

Smaller Finishes

Taking a break from the Purple Blob. So help me, it is driving me plum batty!!! I have made mistakes in it which has resulted in the ripping out of over four hours worth of work. I am not sure if I am going to finish this one in time, but yanevaknow. May it be from my lips to the Heaven's ears. :)

I decided instead to re-stitch one Shepherd's Bush design and stitch up a whole other of their mini kits. These were purchased at Stitcher's Paradise bit ago. They were fairly cheap (less than 15 dollars each) and included all of the silk, fabric, buttons and a needle for stitching. They went *VERY* quickly and I look forward to stitching even more of these.

Here is the first one, redone on a different fabric with a miscellaneous golden bee charm attached. As I suspected, I thought it would look better on a crisp white linen, instead of the light flax I stitched the original one on. This one was stitched yesterday, Saturday, April 12, 2014:

Design: Be Happy Heart Kit

Designer:Shepherd's Bush

Fabric: 28 count Charles' Craft Carolina linen in Salt

Floss: Gloriana Threads in Dried Pink Roses #119), Thread Gatherer's Silk n' Colors in Medieval Mulberry #091, Rose Blush #100 and Williamsburg Green; Possible discontinued color. Unable to locate any info on it at all.

Project #2 finished today:

Design: Taste of Summer kit

Designer: Shepherd's Bush

Fabric: 28 count Charles' Craft Carolina linen in Salt

Fibers: DMC in 610, 729, 936, 3012, and 3021. Weeks Dye Works  embroidery floss in Linen #1094, Red Pear #1332, Lancaster Red #1333, Guacamole in #1193 and Gunmetal in #1298.

Well, I had best be off. Time for more Hercule Poirot  movies. Hope everyone is having a great weekend! :)

It's Been A While

Been busier than a one legged man in a butt kicking contest. As such there hasn't been much time for stitching, but a lot of 'life organization' taking place. On my birthday this year, back in mid-March, I managed to get my motorcycle endorsement class passed. I am so, so excited. It will be a bit before DH can purchase my bday present, a Kawasaki Ninja 300 SE in white. I am so, so excited!!

In the mean time, in between time, DH and I moved from Reno to Las Vegas. We didn't expect to ever come back to LV, but life is what happens when you're busy making other plans. There were opportunities that presented themselves and we simply could not pass them up. The good news is that we managed to find a very nice house for rent, and I now have my own craft room!! Woohoo!! I will post pictures once I get everything the way I want it. It's going to take time and a bit of cash, but then again, what doesn't, yea?

I also managed to get two tiny finishes done. These were purchased at Stitcher's Paradise when I was down a bit ago doing interviews. They were fairly cheap and included all of the silk, fabric, buttons and a needle for stitching. They went *VERY* quickly and I look forward to stitching others.

Here is the first one, Violet Egg:

The second one that was finished up back in late March, Be Happy

This is the view from my craft room, a view of the Strip.

Well, I had best be off. It's past my bed time and I have a lot to do tomorrow, including more unpacking. Hope everyone has a great weekend! :)

My finishing isn't the best in the world, and one day I hope to have all the tools to do them up properly, but I am happy with the way they turned out. :)

Hope you all enjoyed them. I am off to finish a fourth ornament which I hope to have posted within the next day or two. :)
