Finally a finish!

Late last night, or early this morning if you prefer :), I managed to get my first finish in almost three months. Life got in the way, and quite frankly, I lost the desire to stitch. I really like this one and made myself put in 10 stitches at a time until I got into a groove and last night is the end result. I am very pleased with the way it turned out.

Here is the finished stitching:

Fabric: 28 count evenweave fabric by Dyeing 4 U in Moonlight (Discontinued color and manufacturer).

Fiber Used: Old Maid of the Abyss by Hand Dyed Fibers

I have one other project that I is on my WIPocalypse list (or at least my version of it!) that I want to finish, as well as one more that I do not have on the list. Then I suppose I will need to make a WIPocalypse list for next year. Hard to believe that the year is drawing to a close and we will soon be celebrating Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. I love this time of year! :)

Two Finish Weekend

Managed to get not one, but two finishes under my belt this weekend. I am so excited! One was even a WIPocalypse finish. Woohoo!

Coeur Romantique update

So I wake up this morning to find that Blogger has "improved" their website and I am NOT HAPPY with the changes. I cannot find a damn thing and I do NOT like having to hunt and peck to find what I need. I do not like forced upgrades for the sake of candy coating a product anyway, and this is no exception. I use Blogger as an online chronicle, if you will, of my stitching endeavors, and I had become accustomed to having things in certain places. There was nothing wrong with the product the way it was, and IMO, this was a case of trying to fix something that wasn't broken to start with. Grrrr!


At any rate, here is what I have so far on Coeur Romantique. It's stitching up a LOT faster than I thought it would and I am pleased with my progress so far.

Au Printemps

Well, Madame de Printemps has finally decided to make an appearance here in the foot of the Sierra Nevadas. It's pleasantly warm and the birds are out in the cherry trees singing their little hearts out. I have a classical music mix on iTunes right now, with some Harney & Sons Paris tea by my side.


With all of this going on, I had, HAD to mind you, begin a new project. Something pretty and spring time like, with lots of pretty colors on a soft background. Hence, the new start. I had been doing so well with the WIPocalypse (or at least my version of it!), I really did feel a bit guilty starting something new, but I just couldn't help it. Nothing in my bags was very spring like, and that's really what I'm in the mood for. I've promised myself that I will get back to it, once this current project is completed.

Spring Time finish

Managed to finish another project that's was a WIPocalypse goal that I had set for myself. On a *roll* here people :D! This one sat for a bit because I had a bit of a hard time seeing the fabric. In my defense is IS a 34 count, which is WAY lower than what I usually stitch on. I'm a 14/28 kinda gal, and have always admired folks who can stitch on tiny thread counts. I wish I could stitch on a 40 count, but I'd have to have a magnifier and I'm not sure I want to make that kind of investment. Eh, a decision for another day. :)


I tweaked the design a bit as is my custom. It originally said 'Spring Time' however, I changed it to 'Stitch Time', left off the border and will attach an antique button to it later on. I am thinking about doing a pinkeep with this one, as I have not ever made one and I'm weary of framing things.

Darth Cookies

I'm happy to report that the next project that I chose to work on was one that was already in my bags. Yay! Go me! :P


The Hubmeister and I have recently taken up playing Star Wars: The Old Republic . It's a really fun game, and this piece seemed appropriate. It's coming along at a good clip. The Hubmeister said he was glad to see this one come out of the project bag as he thought there should be something 'homey' in the kitchen. Men are weird, what can I say! :)

Another finish! Woohoo!

Woohoo! Managed to get a finish in before the end of the month. I am so excited, LOL! I had a LOT of fun stitching this up and look forward to stitching it again. I think the next time I am going to replicate it, I am going to change the flowers to a blue, perhaps Crescent Colours Blueberry Tart or one of my favorite blues, Grannie Annie. I may also stitch it in a darker red, such as Cupid. I haven't decided as of yet. For right now, however, it's going back into my stash pile until I decide to work on it again. :)


At any rate, here is my finish. I left off the black border going all the way around it because I think it looks better that way.
