A Finish On Finish Friday the 13th!

My latest finish is from the design collection of Carol Ridyard of iStitch Designs. I have stitched several of her designs but for whatever reason have not done so in some time. I really do like the way this one turned out. I love stitching her pieces as the stitcher may customize the piece how they see fit. They also stitch up quickly and easily, which is also nice. Please be sure to check out her online blog store. Her prices are reasonable and the turn around time for receiving your charts is less than 24 hours.

Well, at any rate, here is my latest finish for 2017. Number two out of 12! :)

Design: Sew Bands

Designer: Carol Ridyard of iStitch Designs

Fabric Used: 28 count white Cashel linen from Zweigart

Fiber Used: Crescent Colours Belle Soie silk in Tulip

Stitchers' Notes: Project number two of twelve for 2017. Began Monday. January 9, 2017. Finished Friday, January 13, 2017.

Well, I best be off. Tons to do tonight. I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!

White Pumpkin-palooza

I decided the other day that I was craving another fall/autumn type of piece to work on. I'm not quite ready yet for Halloween and I am not sure why that is. I am not sure if it's because stores seem to 'rush' the holidays and I've seen Halloween candy out since late August or what. (Honest to God, I saw Christmas commercials on TV the other day and went on a rant worthy of Julia Sugarbaker.). At any rate, I am stitching what I want, when I want, and the goals I had for this year have completely flown out the window. I'm not gonna beat myself up over the meager WIPpocalypse offerings I have presented thus far, because two finished is better than none, yea? I managed to stitch on a 40 count fabric, loved it, and I thought *that* would never happen! I also managed to stitch on a 48 count fabric and lived to tell the tale. So, it's been an interesting stitching year so far. :)

At any rate, here is the latest start. Haven't gotten too far, however, this 40 count is a bit tricky as it is an opalescent fabric and it's a bit harder to see. (The 48 count Dower linen is actually easier for me to see. Go figure! :P)

Design: Be Thankful sampler

Designer: Nikki Lehman of Country Cottage Needleworks

Fabric: 40 Count Newcastle linen by Zweigart in Moondust from Silkweaver Fabrics

Fibers: Crescent Colours in Brown Hen, English Ivy, Finley Gold, German Chocolate, Hickory Sticks and Toasted Marshmallow

Stitcher's Notes: Needle Nanny by Puffin and Company in Country Pumpkins. Began project on 09.27.2013 in honor of Cathey of Pumpkin Patch and Company and her fight with cancer.

In other stitchy news, there seems to be a ton of SAL options for Christmas already this year. Carol of Istitch Designs is planning an Advent SAL. The cost for that is $10.00. Paulette Stewart began her Sunday Mary's Sampler SAL today. Her's is free and she says it will be up as long as her blog is. Lots of options and stitchy goodness to be had! :)

Well, I must be off. Got tons to do before work today. Hope everyone is having a great weekend! :)

Sew Blue Finish & My Devils In The Finals!

Hot off the Q-Snaps is my latest finish, Sew Blue. I really, really enjoy Carol's designs. They stitch up so quick and easy and I love the ability to choose my own colors for the fabric and floss. The designs are gorgeous and she is so lovely to purchase from.

Design: Sew Blue

Designer: Carol R of iStitch Designs

Fabric: Fabric: Wichelt 32 count linen in Antique White

Fiber: Crescent Colours Belle Soie silk in Blue Heaven and Indigo. Glisten Gloss Metallic in #SP01.

In other news, my beloved New Jersey Devils have made the finals again this year! Woohoo!! I am so, so please and I am hoping and praying that my all time favorite player, Martin Brodeur , the best goaltender in the history of the game, wins another Cup. Let's go Devils , let's go! :D

At any rate, I had best be off. Got to get another project and get settled in for a Hercules Poirot marathon. Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend! :)

Whoopsies! :D

Hey there, sports fans! Hope everyone is having a great week. This upcoming weekend is Memorial Day here in the US and I am not too entirely certain The Hubmeister and I will be partaking in any festivities. Whatever we do, I will be thinking and praying for those who have served my country's military, both past and present. Thank you for you and your families sacrifice!

In other news, you know you're overly tired when you mix up dates. By that I mean not a wee bit o' somethin'. I mean, by like a MONTH. In my last post, I had indicated that my MIL and I were going to the Western Quilt, Show and Expo . When we got to the hotel that the expo was going to be held, we couldn't find it anywhere. It was no wonder as that was MAY the 21st and the show wasn't until JUNE 21st. O.O. It was no worries, however, because the local SPCA was having a cat show so we paid the small fee to get in and went and looked at cats and all of the fun stuff you find at shows of that nature. We both found several breeds we would love to have. We are rescue people by nature so I'm sure eventually we will be looking into rescues.

At any rate, here is the wee bit of progress I've made on Sew Blue:

Design: Sew Blue

Designer: Carol R of iStitch Designs

Fabric: Fabric: Wichelt 32 count linen in Antique White

Fiber: Crescent Colours Belle Soie silk in Blue Heaven and Indigo

I have yet another project kitted up and ready to go. I am *trying* to hold off until I have at least ONE more WIP/UFO completed, but I can feel my resolve going the way of the do do bird :/. When I first saw it, I fell completely in love with it and now that I have all the materials, I can't WAIT to start it.

At any rate here it is:

Fabric: Lakeside Linens 32 count Zweigart linen in Bisque.

Fibers: Needlepoint, Inc. 8 Ply 100% Pure Chinese Silk in colors 128, 902, 976, and 993.

I chose to use the as called for floss and colors and this is one time I am NOT disappointed in what was chosen. Every now and again, I change the colors of the floss and/or fabric as I am not overly thrilled with the suggested materials. It's my own fault, as I generally choose brighter, more jewel toned colors and sometimes the designer sees it differently :).

Well, I best be off. I have tons of stuff to do and time's a wastin'. Happy weekend to you all! :)

Sew Blue Sunday Post

I love Sundays. I think Sunday mornings are one of my favorite times of the week. The house is quiet and it's always been a day to laze about and do whatever strikes your fancy. I don't get to be *too* lazy today, as today I am headed to the Western Sew, Quilt & Textile Expo . Should be lots of fun!

Now, onto my newest start. I tried so hard yesterday to work on old projects, but I just couldn't get into it. I was hurting pretty badly with allergy issues and had problems concentrating. So, I did an über fast kit up of a new project and well....*sigh*....here I am. I know I can go back to the WIP bag next to the sofa at any time, but I really wanted to stitch up something older. Ah, well. C'est la vie, n'est pas?

At any rate, onto the stitchy pics! :)

Well, I best be off. Tons to do before the quilting show. Hope everyone is having a great weekend! :)

Sew Quaker Finish

Managed to get another finish under my belt. I am really, really loving stitching the iStitch designs by Carol R. They are a LOT of fun and the color combinations are endless.

At any rate, here's what I finished up last night while watching VH1:

Design: Sew Quaker

Designer: Carol R of iStitch Designs

Fabric: 28 count linen in Legacy by Picture This Plus

Fibers Used: Crescent Colours Belle Soie silk in Old Crow and Slate

Got some more projects organized and I'm planning on picking my WIPs and UFOs back up. Lord knows there's enough of them!

Gotta bolt for the door right now. Lots to do before work today. Hope everyone is having a great week! :)

iStitch-palooza!!

Began another project yesterday and I am really enjoying it. It's another iStitch and I seem to be on not only an iStitch kick, but a monochrome design one at that. I need to get back to stitching things that I've already started, but I just can't seem to get there. Ah, well. Such is life, eh? :)

At any rate, here is what I have so far:

Design: Sew Quaker

Designer: Carol R of iStitch Designs

Fabric: 28 count linen in Legacy by Picture This Plus

Fibers Used: Crescent Colours Belle Soie silk in Old Crow

I think that the Legacy by Picture This Plus fabric and the Crescent Colours Belle Soie silk in Old Crow combination is one of my absolute favorites. To me, it looks like it's been genteelly aged, rather than a primitive aged, if that makes any sense :). I am toying with the idea of stitching one of the swans in white, along with my initials in white. It's just an idea as of right now, but it is something I am contemplating with the piece. :)

Well, I best be off. Got tons to do before work tomorrow. Hope everyone has a great week! :)

Sew Easy finish

Managed to finish up Sew Easy late last night. I truly enjoyed stitching this piece. I love the way it turned out and I cannot wait to start Carol's Sew Quaker. I pulled the fabric and threads for it already, so all I need now is time to work on it! :)

At any rate, here's my finish:

Design: Sew Easy

Designer: Carol R of iStitch Designs

Fabric: Wichelt 32 count linen in Antique White

Fiber Used: Caron Collection Waterlilies silk in Cherry Cordial

***Stitcher's Notes: Stitched one silk thread over two linen threads***

Well, I best be off. Tons to do before work. Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend! :)

It's Sew Easy

Sometimes when I'm doing other things, I think about my hobby. I mull over color combinations for fabrics and flosses. I knew I wanted to stitch up this newest piece, but the color combinations were endless. Right now I seem to be on a monochromatic kick with one strand of silk over two fabric threads. The fabrics of choice have been a lot of 32 count here lately, which is odd given that I was never a 32 count fan. I need to see in order to stitch and 32 count is a bit taxing on these middle aged eyes! :)

Well, at any rate, here is what I have so far. I love the color combination and this piece is really flying by!

Two Finish Weekend

Managed to get not one, but two finishes under my belt this weekend. I am so excited! One was even a WIPocalypse finish. Woohoo!

Alrighty then...on with the show! :)

Finish #1:

Designer: Reflets de Soie

Fabric: Vintage Belfast linen in Country Cream

Fiber: Gloriana Threads in 079- Monet's Pond

***Stitcher's Notes: Stitched one silk floss thread over two fabric threads.***

Finish#2:

Design: Sew Red

Designer: iStitch Designs

Fabric: 28 count linen in Vintage by Fleur de Luce Hand Dyeds

Fibers: Au Ver a Soie Soie d' Alger 7-strand silk floss in 2926. Rainbow Gallery Petite Treasure Braid in PB03 Gold.

***Stitcher's Notes: Year was not changed as I used this as an anniversary sampler for DH and I. I may change the lone "W" to his and my initials, but I haven't decided to do that as of yet.

Well, I best be off. Time to get out another WIP and have at it! :)

Hope everyone had a great weekend! :)

Three WIPs and a (tiny!) Finish

Been busier than a one legged man in a butt kicking contest here lately. DH and I moved to Reno and I started a new job and things have been really, really hectic. I have managed to get in some stitching time here and there, but not enough progress has been made to suit me. I *HAVE*, however, kept to stitching things in my workbox that's already been started and not started anything else. Yay me!

At any rate, here's what I have so far:

WIP #1:

Design: A La Belle Etoile SAL

Designer: The Thread Basket with C Mon Mode

Fabric: 28 count silk and linen in natural by Wichelt

Fibers: Crescent Colours Belle Soie silk in Elegant Eggplant, Ivy League, Sweet Lavender, and Tumbleweed. Gumnut Yarns Stars silk floss in #991 ecru. Kreinik Very Fine (#4) Braid in 001 Silver.

Accouterments: Jolee's Jewels - Crystallized Swarovski Elements in Purple Violet 4 mm bicone, Crystal Moonlight 4 mm bicone, 20 MM Crystal Aurora Borealis star and 16 mm - Crystal Aurora Borealis moon.

WIP#2:

Design: Sew Red

Designer: iStitch Designs

Fabric: 28 count linen in Vintage by Fleur de Luce Hand Dyeds

Fibers: Au Ver a Soie Soie d' Alger 7-strand silk floss in 2926. Rainbow Gallery Petite Treasure Braid in PB03 Gold.

WIP#3:

Design: Spring Time

Designer: Citrouille's Designs

Fabric: 34 count linen in Oaten Scone by Access Commodities

Fiber: Gloriana Threads silk floss in #188 Northern Lights

And finally, the (tiny!) finish:

Design: L'éventail de M-A

Designer: Chez Elisa

Fabric: 28 count Glasgow linen

Fibers: Crescent Colours Belle Soie silk in Shepherd's Pasture. Gumnut Yarns Stars silk floss in #991 ecru. Rainbow Gallery Petite Treasure Braid in PB03 Gold.

Accouterments : Fleur de Lis frame by Hobby Lobby #6730261.

Well, that's all for me for now. Chicken is frying in the pan and I need to attend to that. Hope everyone is having a great week! :)

Here a WIP, there a WIP, every where a WIP WIP

Goooooood morning, sports fans! Hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season so far. I have made little progress on my Thread Basket SAL and have even started yet another project. I have decided that I am going to treat the 2012 WIPocalypse hosted by Measi as a Bacchanalian free for all fest. I have all of my WIP and UFO bags dragged out and on stand by. I am going to start with the projects that are in my stitching area and then I am just going to grab one out of the bags and GO. I am NOT going to make any lists of specific projects to get done, because when I did that this year, I was less than successful. As in I only completed FOUR out of the TWENTY ONE I had wanted to do. For the most part, this also means going on the wagon and not buying a anything other than the odd floss that I ran out of and/or didn't have. I may buy the odd chart now and then, because let's face it, we are spoiled enough to have wonderful designers who manage to produce such lovely things, and Nashville Market is in a few months, and you know what THAT means. Guaranteed stitchy goodness and probably overtime for me to pay for it. :D

At any rate, here is what I have so far on my stitching:

WIP #1:

Design: A La Belle Etoile SAL

Designer: The Thread Basket with C Mon Mode

Fabric: 28 count silk and linen in natural by Wichelt

Fibers: Crescent Colours Belle Soie silk in Empress, Ivy League, Sweet Lavender, and Tumbleweed. Gumnut Yarns Stars silk floss in #991 ecru. KreinikVery Fine (#4) Braid in 001 Silver.

WIP#2:

Design: Sew Red

Designer: iStitch Designs

Fabric: 28 count linen in Vintage by Fleur de Luce Hand Dyeds

Fibers: Au Ver a Soie Soie d' Alger 7-strand silk floss in 2926. Rainbow Gallery Petite Treasure Braid in PB03 Gold.

Well, I am off for now. I have a mild headache and looking at the computer screen is hurting my eyes a bit. I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday with all joy, peace, and lots of eats and treats! :)
