Une étude des Cœurs

In the coming new year, there are many SAL's (Stitch A Longs) that will be occurring. I have signed on for one of them. Julia Line's Long Dog Sampler page is having a SAL for either Sacre Coeur , Dawn Chorus or another Long Dog of your choosing. I have never stitched a Long Dog before, and I have wanted to for the longest time. I chose to Sacre Coeur  to stitch for the SAL. The beauty of Sacre Coeur is that you can choose whatever colors you wish. The agony of Sacre Coeur is choosing the colors! 

As this past weekend was my overnight shift weekend, I was not up to  48 count Dower linen, no matter the color. So, I decided to get out a rare book that I have had in my collection for quite some time,  L'arbre de Noé et autres tableaux au point de croix . I have had this book for close to three years now, and have never stitched anything from it. There is a design that has heart shaped motifs of various sizes in it, which I thought was perfect for trying out various thread and fabric combinations.

Premier Modèle:

Fabric Used: 28 count  Picture This Plus fabric in Gothic

Fiber Used: Crescent Colours Belle Soie silk in Icing 

Deuxième Modèle:

Fabric: 36 count smokey white Edinburgh linen by Zweigart

Fibers Used: Crescent Colours Belle Soie silk (in order) Sweet Lavender, Empress, Tulip, Collard Greens, and Old Crow. 

Troisième Modèle:

Fabric: Picture This Plus 32 count linen in Phoenix

Fibers: Gumnut Yarns Stars silk floss in #991 ecru

Quatrième Modèle:

Fabric: 32 count Cashel linen in Legacy  by Picture This Plus

Fibers Used: Crescent Colours Belle Soie silk in Tulip

I think I have about decided that I am going to use the color combination on the Quatrième Modèle. I really do love that red next to the 32 count Cashel linen in Legacy  by Picture This Plus. I am always interested in opinions, however! :)
